You must be a qualified doctor holding the MD, MBBS, or equivalent degree and licensed to practice by the Medical Board of Australia. |
New Zealand |
You must be a qualified doctor holding the MD, MBBS, or equivalent degree and licensed to practice by the Medical Council of New Zealand. |
Pacific Islands - Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Tonga, Samoa, New Caledonia |
You must be a qualified doctor holding a recognised medical degree and have a country equivalent licence to practise. |
Prerequisites |

✔ Proof of eligibility status (as above). |
✔ Completion of 30 hours of online CME from an approved course (LMBRC strongly recommended) 30 days prior to exam sitting. |
✔ Completion of 20 hours of CME from in-person or virtual approved events (see below) 30 days prior to exam sitting. |
✔ A case study outlining your personal experience with lifestyle medicine (view template). |
Note: |
→ CMEs must be no older than 36 months from the date of the exam. |
→ Proof of all prerequisites must be submitted to DFN at least 30 days prior to the certification exam. |
→ Prerequisites are reviewed and approved by DFN only during the 30 days before the certification exam. |
→ Exam results will not be communicated until all prerequisites have been submitted and approved. |
→ While IBLM sets the certification competencies and Lifestyle Medicine standards, it is left up to the participants to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and experience from reputable sources to sit the exam. |
