FAQs
Catering is of the utmost importance to Doctors For Nutrition, therefore the meals and snacks available to purchase at the symposium will echo our ethos (which you can read more about here). We have worked closely with our catering partner to create a meal that reflects whole food plant-based nourishment.
- Seasonal produce
- 100% free of animal products
- High in starchy vegetables, dark leafy greens, legumes and cruciferous ingredients
- Low in fat and minimal processing
What meals are available?
Whole food plant-based morning and afternoon teas will be available to purchase on the day.
A choice of delicious lunchtime meal boxes will be offered on Saturday 8th November to delegates who have purchased this option. Tickets can be purchased to the optional ‘Culinary Medicine’ workshop on Sunday 9th November where tastings will be provided.
Will any of the meals contain nuts and/or gluten?
The lunchtime meal box will be gluten-free. Gluten-free options will be available for morning and afternoon tea. As with any nut or other allergies, please advise on your registration to ensure your allergy is catered for.
What drinks will be provided or available to purchase?
You can pre-purchase cold-pressed juices when selecting your ticket. Limited extra juices will be available on the day. A coffee cart will also be located at the venue for you to purchase hot beverages during the morning breaks only (remember your coffee cups). Water fountains are located within the building so bring a reusable drink bottle. This is an alcohol-free event.
Are there CPD points available for delegates?
The Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Symposium is IBLM approved for CME for the Lifestyle Medicine Maintenance of Certification (MOC) for all current and newly certified IBLM Lifestyle Medicine Practitioners.
Will there be an opportunity to ask questions of the presenters?
Yes, however due to a tight schedule it may be difficult to answer all questions. Most sessions will have a Q&A component. Those attending may be able to talk with speakers in the breaks and at the workshop.
Are you filming the conference?
Yes, we will be filming the conference academic sessions. These will be available to purchase after the symposium at a discounted price for delegates and members. Members who attend the Symposium will have access to the recordings for free. The symposium recordings may become available as a paid on-demand offering, for people who were unable to join us in Adelaide, at some time in the future. Keep subscribed to our newsletter for updates.
What is the dress code for the conference?
Business casual is recommended. It is spring in Adelaide in November, where the average maximum temperature is around 25℃ (77℉). The symposium venue is fully air conditioned, so we would recommend layers to ensure you are comfortable inside as well as out. Please see the Destination page for more information about visiting Adelaide, accommodation, transport and the conference venue.
Are there discounts available?
Early bird discounts are available for tickets purchased prior to 6 July 2025. There are also discounted tickets for students and concession card holders.
Are there student scholarships available?
Doctors For Nutrition will support up to five medical students to attend the NLMS25 by providing a complimentary delegate pass. Contact us for more information.
Can my spouse or significant other attend?
Everyone is welcome! All delegates for the symposium must register separately.
Can I come for just one day?
Yes, the full symposium program on Saturday and the Sunday workshop are sold separately.
Will this be a hybrid event?
No. However the symposium will be recorded. These recordings will be available to purchase after the symposium at a discounted price for delegates and members. Members who attend the Symposium will have access to the recordings for free.
What’s your refund policy?
You are entitled to a refund if the cancellation request is received on or before 25 October 2025, less a $50 administration fee. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.
Doctors For Nutrition and the symposium organising team aim for NLMS25 to be a sustainable event and are carefully considering eco-friendly options for the symposium where possible. Some steps we are taking include:
- Using public transport for transit travel, where possible
- Reducing the amount of paper used for symposium information
- Using local suppliers
- Using recycled materials where applicable
- Using compostable crockery and cutlery for catering
- Creating digital signage in place of printed collateral
- Encouraging delegates to bring refillable water bottles and coffee cups
