Dr Sam Gartland

Dr Sam Gartland is a UK-trained doctor (MRCP (UK) FRACGP FASLM MSPMED) who now works as a GP in Northern NSW. His practice of medicine has been profoundly influenced by his recovery from MS using a lifestyle approach centred on plant-based nutrition. He is committed to empowering others with the skills and knowledge to optimise their health.

Sam has worked with 'Overcoming MS' as a retreat facilitator, website author and co-author of the Overcoming MS Handbook. He has presented at plant-based Chef Adam Guthrie's 'I Feel Good' weekend programs and was a panel presenter at DFN's Nutrition in Healthcare Conference 2023. His thesis for his Masters was on evidence-based recommendations for elite athletic performance, which included a focus on plant-based nutrition.
Sam holds a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition (via eCornell and the Center for Nutrition Studies).
