Who We Are
Doctors For Nutrition (DFN) was founded in 2018, and is an Australasian, independent, health-promotion charity led by medical and dietetic professionals. We support clinicians and the community with practical, evidence-based, nutrition-led lifestyle medicine education for disease prevention and care.

Our Vision
A world free from preventable disease so that everyone can thrive and live to their full potential.
Why We Exist
Across Australia and New Zealand, chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and many cancers continue to affect millions of people. Much of this burden is preventable, yet healthcare systems often lack the time, training, and resources needed to prioritise practical nutrition and lifestyle support.
DFN was founded to help close that gap—by equipping health professionals, empowering communities, and advocating for evidence-based prevention and care.
What We Do
We translate science relating to nutrition and lifestyle medicine into practical education, tools, and programs that clinicians and the public can use in real life. Our work spans:
- Clinician education – webinars, courses, conferences, and clinical resources
- Advocacy – advancing preventive healthcare solutions
- Community outreach – accessible education for people who wish to prevent or manage disease and improve their health
Everything we do is grounded in scientific evidence, practicality, clinical implementation, and a commitment to public health impact.
Our Impact
Through education, advocacy, and partnerships, DFN is helping reshape how nutrition and lifestyle are understood and used across healthcare and society. Each program, training module, and resource brings us closer to a future where preventable disease is no longer the norm.
